Knife Rampage in Croydon Leaves Five Injured Outside Warehouse Near Asda
Croydon, London – Five men were stabbed during a violent incident on Thursday morning near a warehouse on Marlowe Way, close to an Asda supermarket in south London. Emergency services confirmed all five victims were hospitalised, though none are in life-threatening condition.
The Metropolitan Police responded to the scene at approximately 10:15 am and arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon. The suspect was also taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Among the victims were a man in his 50s, two men in their 30s, and two men in their 20s. Initial police investigations suggest the individuals involved knew one another, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Chief Superintendent Andy Brittain, commander for south London, stated:
"Based on initial enquiries, we believe all those involved knew each other. Therefore, we do not believe there is any wider risk to the public."
The London Ambulance Service confirmed that one victim was transported to a major trauma centre, while the remaining four were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. A spokesperson for the service detailed the emergency response:
"We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, members of our Tactical Response Unit, and London’s Air Ambulance."
The industrial park remains cordoned off as investigations continue, with visible emergency service vehicles, including fire engines, present at the scene.
This incident coincides with the sentencing of a teenager in Southport for a separate fatal knife attack, highlighting the ongoing issue of knife-related violence across the UK.
